Noah's Birthday

Being number 5 of 5 is probably a tough spot to be in. The number one spot gets everything. Moms and Dads worry more, they plan more, they even remember their name more.  Remember when I could tell you how old Dacee was down to the second for the first year and a half.  Their first birthday is a huge deal. Sadly I must confess, that poor little Noah's first was not very exciting.

After a crazy shopping trip, which is a post all of it's own, Noah's birthday bash got shoved to the next day. And all it included was a cute little cake made by Brad, of course, and a present that didn't even get wrapped. We just put it together and set it on the floor. I snapped a few photos, we sang happy birthday while Noah waved his hands in the air and laughed. He probably couldn't figure out why he was getting so much undivided attention from everyone and he enjoyed every second of it.

But I know that things will turn around in ten or fifteen years. Dacee might not be so excited that we remember her name more, that we worry more and we plan more. Noah will find this information quite useful when it comes time for him to pass through those special years we call the teens. He may slide through a little easier because our grip may have loosened to normal. So maybe first birthdays are a little over rated anyway. The best is yet to come.

Happy Birthday little man, we are so glad you are here.
