It all began one morning, just as a normal day. The Dad got up and got ready for work. He woke everybody up and the family said prayers. Seemed pretty typical. The three blond kids said good-bye to the Dad, and then they put the plan that had been brewing in their sweet, innocent minds, into motion.

As always they waited on the steps for the kids across the street to come out and chat before school. First, the blond friend went to the bus stop, just like everyday. But wait, her backpack! She forgot her backpack! Was there time to get to her house, and back to the stop before the big yellow bus came? It was a chance she had to take.

Waiting on the front steps across the street sat the three blond kids waiting in anticipation. Would she do it? Would she leave the bus stop before the big yellow bus came to carry her away to school? And then there she was, standing on the steps with the three blond kids. And now this day was different than all the rest. The blond friend had missed the bus.

Quickly, all four children ran into the house and down the stairs. Hoping that they wouldn't be discovered until it was too late. The unsuspecting mother was inside, and heard the commotion. Glancing at the clock she sweetly called out, "Hey guys, your blond friend is going to miss the bus." No response. A quick look at the clock and the diligent mother thought they had a minute, and went on with the task at hand.

The diligent mother's mind went busily on thinking of the rest of the day until suddenly, she realized, the blond friend was still downstairs. She ran to the stairs and called to the four children who were quietly hiding downstairs. The blond friend missed the bus! All four children came up the stairs, as if they had no idea how this could have happened.

Then the youngest blond boy spoke up, and said, "Our blond friend missed the bus." And the diligent mother asked the obvious question, "Then why is she over here?" Once again the small blond boy piped up and said, "Because her dad leaves at eight. She wants to try out homeschooling today."

GASP! What had they done! The dad was gone and now there was one more blond child at the three blond childrens house. The diligent mother was shocked and couldn't think clear. Had this been planned? By these sweet innocent children? Soon the mother knew just what to do. She must take the fourth blond child to school that day.

On the way out the door, the mother asked,"Do you need to get your backpack?" The fourth blond child responded, "Oh no, I left it at school."
